Edit votes

If one sends the Invite link, people are able to vote but not able to go back later and change their vote. they can only re-vote

if one sends the admin link then one has to login with one's profile and then if you are not the poll owner you cannot change any votes

how does one edit votes later on?

    Hi Ralph,

It seems that this is covered in the documentation here: https://support.rallly.co/participants/editing-a-response

That’s correct, specifically the FAQ part. Participants getting locked out of their responses is a common issue and I would like to find ways to avoid it. I don’t think there’s any way to avoid it completely but some changes that may help:

      • Require participants to enter an email. That way they will always have a link to edit their response

      • Give admins the option to allow participants to edit any participant.

Yesterday, I had to end up adding options to a poll after creation since none of the initial options connected with the entire group... what I did was send the group an email about the added options and also included a link to the support page which does a great job explaining things :)

Now that I think of it, editing responses is actually a major thing in my mind and also in the minds of respondents. The current flow is not bad at all. The support page is great, but to reduce the friction even more for users, I'd say #1 is preferable since it does a better job maintaining the integrity of the data. Having everyone be able to edit everyone's responses could lead to bad actors doing funky stuff and/or honest mistakes where someone mistakenly edits the person below them, etc. Requiring emails would be a better alternative I believe so long as the benefits of providing their email are clearly articulated... i.e. allowing them to easily edit their responses on any device, etc.

That said, perhaps having both options available for admins to choose from would be the best of both worlds? If it's a small group and the admin believes giving everyone the option to edit any participant is better than requiring email, well then having the option to choose between the two would be best :)
