Feature Request: User-defined selection definitions

Currently the selection options are Green Check for "yes", Orange Tilde for "if needed" and Gray X for "no". I'd like to be able to assign different values to the the legend. Ex: Green Check for "available in-person or online", Orange Tilde for "available online only", Gray X for "not available". Another example might be Green Check for "can attend", Orange Tilde for "can host" and Gray X for "cannot attend". I'm sure there are other uses. Please think about it. Thanks.

I've had a few different requests about the available options for voting. I think it may be worth exploring giving the ability for the poll creators to customize the kinds of votes participants can choose from.

It would be really useful if the default (ie no choice given) was not the same as No.

As I have to guess (based on past experience of each individual what they actually mean). I often end up sending an email to ask them

A definite 'yes please' for this as sometimes I want either a 'Yes' or a 'No' response and a 'maybe' or 'if I must' isn't appropriate. However I'm of two minds about how to deal with respondents who don't give a response for a particular time slot. Some might regard the current behaviour where not answering, switches a slot to a 'No'. It's certainly less work for the respondent if there a lot of slots they can't attend. As the poll author I think I'd prefer to leave the unanswered slots as an unanswered state so I know which respondents have screwed up. I appreciate others may prefer the current behaviour. Maybe make the default response for a slot (when they submit without changing that slot), configurable when setting up the poll so we can have the best of both worlds. Typically this option would be set as either the ? or the X.

If this is combined with the ability to also order them in some way, so I can have "yes", "yes but takes some effort", "if need be", "preferably not", and "no", and have rallly pick for me the date with the most "yes", otherwise the most "yes but with some effort", etc. That'd be great.

Where I use rallly, often there's not a single date with only "yes", so we always need to dive into the shades of "yellow" with all the maybes.

I am the OP of this feature request. I want to clarify something: I'm not proposing changing the features and operation in any way. A poll with still have 3 options: Green Check, Orange Tilde, Gray X (default). Green Check and Orange Tilde will both continue to be 'affirmative' count towards the tally. I just want to be able to change the legend i.e. the instructions so that instead of the current fixed text "Yes, If Need Be, No" I'd like to be able to customize the legend. One specific example I gave was "Online or In Person, Online Only, No". The first two (green check and orange tilde) would both be added to the affirmative tally, just like they are today.

This will give poll creator's more flexibility in designing their polls and updating the text than the poll-taker sees while not changing the recording and tallying functionality.

I could see making this more flexible and allowing more than the the 2 affirmative and one negative options but that adds complexity and I am not suggesting that. I am just suggesting that during the poll creation stage that legend be able to be updated with user content.

I think this a rare need. There is also comment available, eg for I can host.

And please remember to keep it simple to setup and respond to quickly

Am suggesting that NOTHING is different from default poll setup as it is today. Am asking for an OPTION to change the legend text, that is all.
